TOWER KiwiSaver Online Application

You are about to make an important investment decision on behalf of a minor. Where appropriate discuss this decision with them before proceeding. Only the legal guardians of a minor can complete this application on their behalf.

This decision includes choosing how much to contribute and what kind of funds the minor will invest in. Before you sign up to the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme, it's a legal requirement that you read the investment statement, which you'll need to download as part of the sign-up process. The good news is that the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme investment statement can really help with the sign-up process.

You are able to make an application here to enrol a minor who is not employed. Simply complete this online application form, submit the details and we'll take it from there.

If a minor who is employed and paid via the PAYE systems wishes to enrol, please download the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme Investment Statement and use the application forms in that.

If the person you are applying on behalf of is an existing KiwiSaver member, you may also apply to transfer from their existing KiwiSaver scheme and join the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme here. We will arrange the transfer of their existing KiwiSaver account to the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme.

Sign up generally takes less than five minutes.

During sign-up if you wish to nominate a school as part of the Cash4Schools™ programme, please clearly state the name of the school when requested on the Adviser Details section during the online sign-up process.

By completing this sign up process you are applying for a minor to become a member of the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme and accordingly they are not able to opt out of KiwiSaver. The minor may however, at a later date go on a contributions holiday. If the minor has a job and they are paid through the PAYE system they will have to contribute at the prevailing minimum contribution rate of their gross salary or wages. More information on this can be found in the investment statement (see 'How much do I pay').

Please note to complete the sign up process you need to:

  1. Read the TOWER KiwiSaver Scheme Investment Statement.
  2. Each legal guardian involved in this enrolment process and the minor the enrolment is on behalf of must have their identity verified (if you or the minor are new to KiwiSaver we will require verification of both your identities. You'll find out more about identity verification later in the application process).
  3. Have the minor's IRD number handy. Minors will need an IRD number. If they do not have an IRD number complete this form and submit it to Inland Revenue. Once you have the number return here to complete the enrolment.
